RENE RIETMEYER: TRACY MASON FROM ENGLAND
Until the first months of 1997 Rene Rietmeyer's artworks featured regognizable subjects.
In 1997 however Rietmeyer noticed that a regognizable subject distracted from the actual contents of the art work.
The artworks were not about the subject itself, they were about Rietmeyer's relationship with his surrounding, being expressed in the choice of color, material, size, surface texture and composition.
This painting is an oil on canvas from 1996 measuring 100x100 cm.
